The PROJECT
Centennial Bridge is the primary connection for commuters traveling between Platte County, MO and Leavenworth, KS. The location of the crossing has a storied history including being the first access point to lands west of the Mississippi River. Opening in 1955, the current bridge is in need of replacement, with repair work causing frequent traffic delays. I was tasked with creating a brand for the replacement bridge that can be used to inform and excite the community about the upcoming infrastructure project.
The STRATEGY
This project is centered in a military community where the Centennial Bridge is the only river crossing within 30 miles. It was important that the design system I created reflected the project’s core values: safety, ease, connection, service, and community. I needed a brand that could speak to this community in a way that was bold, spirited, and proud but at the same time functional and steady. The solution developed focuses on clarity of information, with intentional decisions made at every step.
